For those who say the U.S. has nothing to offer in the way of traditional Black Metal, has never heard Black Funeral. The band is proud to release their debut album, "Vampyr: Throne of the Beast" on cult label Fullmoon Productions.
First off, how are you doing tonight?
I am quite fine, thank you.
Does Fullmoon have plans to release your album soon? I know it's
been on the back burner for a while.
Black Funeral "Vampyr-Throne of the Beast" will be released on CD when you read this. There have been many numerous and annoying delays, but it is finally ready to be released. The album features 8 hymns of Grim Mediaval Wamphyric Black Metal art; musically hard, cold, ugly, fast, with many epic synthesizer tracks. Lyrics are on a corner-stone of balance, Wamphyrism:Dreams, astral projection, Satanic evolution and Luciferian Pride, on the other point: war, death, blood, misanthropy, massacres, tyranny, lycanthropy, shadows, black magick and other such topics. The CD may be purchased from Fullmoon Productions for the price of $15. Limited Lp format available later, there are "Vampyr.." t-shirts available for $16 USA $17 WORLD. The new design "Throne of Ordog" is on longsleeves, with sleeve print and two colors, a gothic design of the Dragon on the back. Price is $18 USA $20 WORLD.
Will we ever see your projects on the internet (homepages)?
I personally would not do it, not too informative I must say.
Can you tell us about your other (non-metal) projects?
I am working with Valefor. Valefor is labeled as death industrial, very trancelike-total synth music. I have recorded a promo-tape, as well as an album "Death Magick". The lp may be released on Death Factory of Sweden, but time will tell. I and my fiancee SL LeJeune were working on a dark/gothic/techno dance project titled AXIOM, but we recorded only two songs so far. I am sure there will be some future recording. You know, I've been into techno/gothic since 1992 or so, I found it to be very special music. As time has progressed, I have myself and I am a musician, so I will play what I feel like. I have played black and death since 1989 and I must progress and do other things. I am still playing black metal because I like the expression.
Do you feel the "black" scene will become stagnant and
divided (labels drop smaller bands, etc..) like the "death" scene
has?
Yes. The death scene was boring and so is this one. I would fine this trend to be nice if they died from suicide and such. Black Funeral is a very serious medium for my Satanic/Wamphyric being, far more serious than childish fun "Death to god" bands. There is much beauty in other scenes as well.
Would you like the Black Order of the Dragon clutch to exist within
the black metal scene, or as a cult in itself?
B.O.T.D has NOTHING TO DO WITH BLACK METAL, only some members are involved in Black Metal.
In the past you have been very outspoken about Black Funeral NOT
playing live, ever. Will you ever perform a live show with any project?
I do not think there will be any shows, maybe with VALEFOR-DARKNESS ENSHROUD or something. Black Funeral is more important being a cult, in the shadows. Time will tell.
Do you see yourself playing music, etc... say five years from now?
Who knows, I look forward to it however. Hopefully I won't have long hair. That will be nice. I will always be deeply in the occult, that is for sure.
This is the end of this short interview, any last comments?
