Les Amants Maudits (literally, 'the cursed lover') is an obscure cult
arriving out of France presenting a unique approach to ambiental-industrial
soundspheres and musical experimentations. This project has been realized
by Nicolas D. Faure (also known from the dark-medaeval ambient project
Asmorod).
There is a great emphasis on classical horror cinematography and subject
matter within the confines of Nicolas' presentation. Reflections of the
music offer original approaches toward the thematic nature of the horror
genre in congruence with other facets of morbid thought and indulgence.
Thus far, Les Amants Maudits has released a split cassette with Ephel Duath
(now known as Taliesans Bards Order) from France. This tape was released in
a limited number and is most likely sold out at this time. At the moment,
Les Amants Maudits is preparing a limited cassette release for Erzsebet
Productions, as Nicolas shall record this work in the Blood Countess Center,
his own studio for musical endeavours.
Dark Age Productions shall proudly recognize the debut cassette album effort
of Les Amants Maudits to be titled "Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel."
This opus shall come in an exquisite packaging format with appropriate
visuals and aesthetics to further enhance the quality and feeling of the
release. Nicolas has derived influence from Edgar Allen Poe's "Pit and the
Pendulum" as a source of inspiration and musical conception. Nicolas
particularly views and interprets this work through the cinematographic
adoption of Poe's work released by the German film producer, Harald Reinl
(1963). Watch for "Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel" to be released by
Dark Age Productions in the near future.
